MERASI - Rajasthani musicians in Johnson (3)
BackPerformed on Easter Sunday, 23 March 2008 at the Lowe Lecture Hall, Johnson, Vermont. They exudes so much joy and warmth with their music and the way they performed it. This is Khartal Piece - a spontaneous performance using mainly khartal = castagnet. A khartal consists of 2 pieces of wood, hold in your hand in such a way that one stays put while another one is moving. Very impressive and dynamic; makes me think everyone should just get up and dance with them! Visit their website to learn more about them, purchase CDs, buy tickets for their shows, etc.: http://www.merasi.org/
