i'm one of the lucky ones who gets the aura but no headache, what a relief to know what these are, i think mine are brought on by stress and dehydration.i rarely get them anymore once i learned they arnt caused by a brain tumor or something.

i only get an aura half of the time. i see little sparkly lights, and they crackle. my headaches alternate sides, and the eye on that side i lose vision. i get nauseous, but i don't always vomit. i actually have one right now, no aura this time. i slept most of the afternoon, am only up now because the dog ran and jumped on the bed. my kids also wanted supper, so i had to cook for them. oh and my face is numb on the side my headache started, the right thistime.

last day i had a terrible migraine,but woke me up from sleep and when i opened my eyes my headache was just about to start and my aura was in the regression phase.so i had maybe 80% vision,whereas in the maximum stage i think aura can take away 50% of my vision or even more.terrible stuff.anyways,afterwards i couldnt sleep and puked 3 times,finally resorted to taking Codeine-Dafalgan,which made me sleep in 10 minutes.i was grateful for that.i only get this stuff 1-2 times a year, i hope never!

I get one about an hour before my migraines and I shotgun a mountain dew, take 4 ibuprofens, and close my eyes for about an hour and a half then the vision problem is gone and its just a big 'ol headache to deal with. I lose my like 80% of my sight when i get one.

ya i drink some mountain dew and take 2 to 4 excedrin and it will make the migraine much less intense, i still feel sick with nausea but whatever, i dont mind having to puke, its the pain i cant deal with, ive noticed how bad the pain of the migraine depends on how long the visual aura lasts, and how big it gets, like if it comes on fast and takes up like all my visual and takes a long time to clear up, its going to be a bad migraine, of course this could just be my imagination,

yeah when i get migranes, i throw up. mine last about 1hrand 30mins. they suck more than anything. luckily, i was put on a medicine, its a preventer and it seems to be working, havent gotten one ever since ive been using it. i highly sugguest to take a migrade medication if yours come up very often. good luck. god bless

yeah its called Amitriptyline i think. see your doctor first its a precription medicine. its a preventer. it works! good luck! god bless!
