When im thinking of an idea to put onto canvas I generally think up a story line then storyboard it (as though im making a film) then sketch out my favourite part in full and paint it :P

that's awesome an awesome way to illustrate creativity...
i find... i get the best ideas when i have very small pieces of things to write on... like a candy wrapper or a napkin or those tiny post-it notes

well when you think about it if someone achieves something using just basic items that would usually be overlooked for that specific use then that would be more creative than using technological equipment to achieve the same effect. I guess it all depends on the persons perception of the term "creativity" to what it means.

I think the point is that the very video we just watched wouldn't have gotten to us without a certain amount of equipment. Some is necessary. Also, there's something to be said for brainstorming on paper rather than in the mind. Look up "extended cognition" for research into this subject, it's interesting stuff.
Love the vid,though. I hope it encourages more people do do creative things. :)
