War crimes suspect gets UK court bailout
BackLondon's High Court has granted bail to the former Bosnian vice president Ejup Ganic, who's charged with war crimes in Serbia. It comes despite Serbia's claims it has strong evidence against him, and their request for his extradition. Ganic was arrested at Heathrow airport last week and is accused of killing retreating Serbian troops in Bosnia in 1992. It's alleged he ordered the death of more than 40 soldiers as they were leaving Sarajevo accompanied by UN peacekeepers. Serbia claims it was a violation of the safe passage act, while Bosnia insists charges against Ganic are a political move targeting its sovereignty. Marko Gasic from the British-Serbian Alliance for Peace says it shows Bosnia is guilty of double standards.
