to the person who said "and it wastes lots of electricity i presume?". These effects arent graphics-intensive, I seriously doubt that you'd see much of an extra draw in power from the video card.. There are apps you can download that bump the speed of your CPU down (and therefore use less power) when you arent using it to its full potential and dont NEED all the computing power, if you're that concerned about the environment.

BTW, You can do this with any distro of Linux, Just install Beryl, which i do believe is now Compiz

Then you just need to get an older version, or different distro or something. Which one were you trying, Ubuntu? well, you obviously don't know how to use it, it's just that whatever version you used wasn't compatible. lol

no, it doesn't use more electricity (maybe it does, but if so, very, VERY little extra), it just uses up a little more graphic memory. lol. Actually Linux uses a lot less resources than windows, so it's be using less than Windows default than LinuxOS with a lot of add-ons and plug-ins.

Oh, and your computer will run WAY faster and better on linux, it doesn't take as high system specs to run. So go buy that $3000 computer to run Vista Ultimate, while we continue to run linux for free and I bet this video was ran on a computer that can't even handle Vista, but the graphics are equal. People are so quick to judge, you all have the Wal-Mart effect. So scared into that crap! LOL oh, and I do run Vista, but don't diss Linux, it's the free world.... acknowledge it!

Actually you are so much farther away from the truth than you think. Want the truth? You can't handle the truth! The truth is that Linux(Unix) Based operating systems like the one in the video PClinuxOS is first and formost open source, meaning it's absolutly FREE... and you can do what you wish with it, if you can, you can even change the code to modify it. Secondly, Linux OS's run more effeciently than windows. That's why most servers are linux, so Youtubes server, probably a linux!
