http://digg.com/world_news/BURIED_BY_DIGG_VIACOM_VS_YOU Digg.com emails: feedback@digg.com abuse@digg.com press@digg.com Recently one of the most important subjects dealing with the privacy of youtube members was completely buried by digg.com. Here is a link to the original video for viacom vs you on digg.com. Notice my comment shortly after they burried it. It is 8th comment. Also look at the reply to it. http://digg.com/world_news/VIACOM_VS_YOU Here is a link to the stats of the users that make submissions popular: http://popfail.com/technology/recommended-flaw-31-of-digg-homepage-submitted-by-10-users/ This video is to let my viewers see how digg.com censored the video Viacom vs you on their website. The video become popular and about 5 minutes later was completely buried from their site. This was a video that many of you supported. When asked by another youtuber why they buried this subject they sent the following answer: "Story was reported (General, 1-click bury) and subsequently removed by the Digg community." From what I gather this means that literally one person was able to completely remove this story and video from digg.com to where you could only find it on my digg page or through a direct link. I could not believe that this kind of thing was even possible on their site. I am making this video to let you know what happened to the story and how they handled it on their site. Needless to say I was not happy to see that a website that I was promoting and supporting was going to treat my content like that. So for the last time please digg this story to help try to get a satisfactory answer to how this happened on a site that was supposed to be about the people deciding on what stories are popular and which are not. Not just one person randomly deciding to totally bury a story that clearly many people were supporting. I will probably make a video on their response to this video if they have one or even if they just decide to ignore it.

Years ago when I had a Digg account I spent hours surfing news articles. Having done so I noticed "trolls" that would leave numerous comments and dig down articles well beyond what a normal human speed typist could accomplish. (likely more than one person operating 24-7) Low brow, no content, verbal assaults. Admin would regularly censor highly rated articles based on THEIR opinion of worthiness. Many discovered similarly. IMO too many fascists run the show there. Not worth supporting that.

A total lack of censorship will never happen as long as there is money to be lost from having the wrong ideas on your front page. There will always be money to be lost as long as there is money to be gained. The only places totally free of censorship will be run by individuals from their basements. A large, censorship-free website like Digg can only be supported by T-shirt sales and the like, because anything else makes the website have to kiss someone's ring for its continued existence.
