I've really liked this song for more than 2 years now, but wow.. this videos is horrible.. I like mercury rev, but I understand why some people call it shallow and pretentious.. that's exactly what the video is.. but don't only judge on that.. listen to the music.. No doubt that I can make a better video.. these shots are horrible, intersecting between fastmotion, focus and then out of focus.. Its not an efford to be different.. its just blowing up.. good song!

Its supposed to be like that - it's replicating silent movie style filming...that's why it flickers etc

Did you feel at as an accusation that you are shallow? you read a lot dont you? anyway, Mercury Rev is a very creative bunch, have been godfathers of the "alternative" scene, are tough enough to live in upstate New York, have lent their guys to another fantastic band Luna... and i dont know who copyied who but An American Astronaut and this vid are quite similar, meaning both creepy and imaginative.

well, if it comes down to technicalities, then your grammar is weak as fuck, but this is music and beauty and its not about technicalities so stfu, basically. the guy has his opinion.
