I would want nothing more than for an advisory commitee to be struck that consisted of persons who had a broad experience across seveveral interests within the pharmacutical world. Remember that those 12 different companies all have competing interests. Would you otherwise like someone with no insight into the workings of the big pharms advising the FDA? Who would you choose?

NIH scientists w/out any conflicts of interest or University researchers w/out conflicts of interests or CDC professionals who have experience interpreting epidemiological data and clinical trials.

Very well done. I'm certain you already know, but viewers may not, that the litany of associations of these physicians with external companies is referred to as "Full Disclosure." Each professional is required to disclose their associations with any and all organizations/companies that may affect their decisions. These clinicians would not be able to understand the +'s and -'s of the drugs/devices they are asked to comment on without the $ support. Their professional integrity is at risk
