Whatever differences linux and windows have, i'm glad they both exist. correct me if i'm wrong. If windows weren't there, linux won't have the inspiration to make alternative softwares that will be available for free. (and that's handy) If Linux didn't exist, Windows won't be working their asses off to improve stability and desktop graphics, since linux is far more advanced. I don't know bout mac, but they sure have nice laptops. PEACE

So Linux is secure out of the box and free, while Windows is a virus infested OS and it costs money. So why are Linux users stupid? Is it because they use free software that performs better than software that costs money? If so, call me an idiot.

Free things are not god. :P You cant find in Linux that application that you can find in windows or not. But if you use only faronics antiexecutable or deepfreeze windows is more stable and secured than linux. 0.00% possibility to be damaged or even changed. Windows is unsecured for that people they use cracked software and not licensed software.

prodigious08: You're so wrong. No matter how much malicious code protection you have, you can ALWAYS get viruses; whether it be Linux, Windows, OSX, BSD, etc. There is always a way to get around things, and there is never a "0.00%" chance of getting infected.

call me and IDIOT ALSO!!! =) Windows... more stable?.... (bluescreen).... they about to scrap VISTA and it just came out... I don't know... about that one... either way..LINUX!!!

Windows can possibly be secure if you add on a million things...Linux is secure from the word go.
prodigious08 (Thursday 2nd of October 2008 06:51:53 AM)
Yes because linux is free and windows is not thats why.

An question. Where can i find the drivers pack for linux. I mean all drivers together.
nchristy08 (Friday 12th of September 2008 10:48:51 AM)
You don't since the device manufacturers don't make drivers for Linux. Motherboard, processor, sound, hard drive are included in the kernel. All major graphics card manufacturers have Linux drivers, ATI ships it's Linux driver on CD with all new cards since HD 4850.
