PSK31 - Operating

Back

Video shows operating aspects of PSK-31 using Digipan. I show how to use the Macros and Logging within the program. I then make 3 QSOs using my FT-817 at 5 watts to show you some PSK QSOs.

ah forgot to mention my call - vk2hro - and chumlypage, yeah you can talk for miles - literally hundreds of them on 5 watts - I do it on 1 watt, in a crappy area, in a bowl. It takes time and patience with your radiating things (antenna's) to do it. But its doable. I like running my radios low power - it extends their lives.

Gday Randy - like the videos you have put on youtube - inspired me to get my Standard license (from nothing) here in OZ, which is equiv to General in the states. Tried to grab ya on Echolink, but you didnt reply, so I'll try again later - Cheers and 73's, Ben

hey randy someone told 5 watt radio are not go at talking long...because of the sun spots
K7AGE (Sunday 6th of January 2008 11:04:16 AM)
Well, you don't know until you try. I had 3 QSOs that day. I do have a beam, but I think all that I was talking to just had wire antennas. It will be better when the sun spots are back. But it does work. Randy
