gadget @ TTS -Ep56- Corinex GameNET - Ethernet over Power
Backhttp://www.TheTechStop.net PowerLine Ethernet adapters don't have the best reputation in the industry. With so many bargain-basement brands flooding the market, it's easy to buy a set that is buggy, slow and almost impossible to configure. PowerLine adapters SHOULD deliver speed, stability and ease-of-use :: most often what they bring is frustration and disappointment. That was... until Corinex gave us a low-cost, high-speed, super-reliable Powerline to Ethernet adapter set that can be setup within seconds... The Corinex GameNET is a set of their vaunted AV200 Powerline adapters. Corinex has long been a big player in the world of data-over-power and now they bring their enterprise-class experience to the home and small office. If you've ever needed to get network access to an out-of-reach place where wireless is useless and running cables unfeasible, the GameNET might be for you. http://www.TheTechStop.net/?page_id=9

DC610Smoke,
Yes --- I'm assuming that your computer is connected directly to your router. You would just connect one GameNET to the router and the other to your 360 -- VIOLA! Done! :)
Peace,
Fr. Robert

Thanks a lot!!! the lightbulb didn't go off but I'm pretty sure that they're on the same circuit. If they are not, can you recommend anything else? thanks

Father Robert, I have a 360 in my basement, and my router is about 2 floors up. Its a netgear router, also my house is old. Do you know if this will cause any problems?
Thanks

sculster08rcks,
It shouldn't be a problem unless the basement and the plug upstairs are on a different circuit. Here's a quick way to tell... find the breaker that shuts off the power to the basement plug you want to use. Now plug a light into the plug you want to use on the 2nd floor. If you throw the breaker for the basement plug and the light on the 2nd floor goes out, then they are on the same circuit.

Now that doesn't automatically mean that it will not work if the break trick doesn't turn off the light, but the more breakers the signal has to go through the more probably it is that it will not make it through.
