Im trying to remember from when I last read the book; but wasnt the character that rapped Hassan describbed to be blond and have blue eyes or something and was of German descent? i found this very odd but was it common or plausible to see during that time period in... Afghanistan I believe it was?

I've read the book but have been afraid to see the movie (I do not the movie to spoil my minds version)until now. If the movie is as moving and heartfelt as the book I'm going to buy it. It's one of the great stories of life. 'There is a way to be good again' Hosseini is a master story teller. Thanks for the post!

That's really too bad. When it comes to movies or books as amazing as this one, it's really worth everyone's while to put aside their discomfort about certain subject matter. Some of the best experiences don't necessarily come by that easily. Keep working on them! Hopefully it'll pay off.
