Backhttp://code.google.com/apis/socialgraph Google engineer Brad Fitzpatrick gives an introduction to the Social Graph API. The Social Graph API makes information about the public connections between people more easily available. A need exists to enclose this type of info in a secure and controlled manner. This will become a Digital DNA of your relationships, even though we can, we probably shouldn't...
Orwell's "1984" is all around us, the ability to track or locate an individual should not be abused.

Fantastic! If I have a malformed understanding of how my blog links and blogrolls work, my friends can stalk me everywhere I go even if I don't want them to locate me on other social networks or be friends with me there.

I absolutely agree. Until another application builds or uses this type of link between sites, I don't see people actively invest efforts into a new networking site unless it serves a completely different purpose entirely...i.e. LinkedIn (which come to think of it, most people *shouldn't* link to their facebook page).

Not if your other social networks allow your page to be completely private. That's where privacy comes in.
