#501 Acadia's Meal Hall

Sunday Kitchen #64 Meal Hall We checked out the meal hall at Acadia. It's just been renovated and looks really good. We went at breakfast time and there were so many different things to choose from. I guess they can afford to make it so nice because this dining hall serves all of the halls of residences - not just one. At the place I stayed in first year, there was one counter and you lined up and pretty much ate what you were given, like prison ... no it wasn't that bad, but it wasn't as flash as this. Have you ever stayed in university or school accommodation? What was the food like? Thank you to the people at meal hall for letting us come and film. Note: I've had problems opening Blogger for some time now - so I'm going to change to using another blog (wordpress) for publishing the scripts. I may go back to using Blogger if they ever fix the problem. That "Its Hip To Eat Square" sign must be a play on Huey Lewis's hit '80s song "Its Hip To Be Square". I dont know if your familiar with the phrase "3 square meals a day", but I think thats what it refers to. I bet you were stoked about the Soy Milk.

Cool place, our uni has a cool canteen too ^^ i love the "my pantry" thingy but would people really use it?! over here you wouldn't be caught dead cooking your food, you have to look cool! not that theres anything wrong with cooking your own food, but...

I just looked up Trattoria in Wikipeida: A trattoria is an Italian style of restaurant, less formal than a ristorante. There are generally no printed menus, the service is casual, the prices low, and the emphasis is on a steady clientele rather than on haute cuisine. The food is modest but plentiful and is served family-style (i.e. at common tables).
