I have to agree with digibluez, wine is an amazing idea but the performance drop you get with it as compared to windows is just astonishing. If the two were comparable, then i would use linux for everything, instead of having a high powered machine running only on XP (i refuse to use vista)

i don't see the point in windows. it costs too much, and there are more viruses for it than people. where as linux, there are about as many viruses for it as i have egg cells in my male body.

My first linux/GNU was mandrake 8 in 2002. Then moved to opensuse in 2005. Now I'm on Fedora for the last 2 years using it on my laptop and desktop. On Linux I never had a situation where I faced a virus threat ever!! Also the company I work at; I helped in switching to Linux RHEL on its servers, it is just so light weight and highly configurable to our needs. Goodbye M$ windows the dinosaur, and hello to Linux/GNU freedom and performance.

I wish I could escape from Microsoft use Linux I down loaded both Ubuntu Debian burn to CD set boot for CD nothing happen It boot to Windows. A few years ago I almost got Red Hat to work but I lost My temper when It asked Me for some pass word after Installing It, I hate security freak that steal My money. Years ago I used BeOS It was fast but as stable as Windows 98 would work only on older Intel CPU

if linux only would play games 100% the same way as windows,,, then yes i be chaning ti linux in a second. But as a gamer, i can't do this. thanks to microsux co-operation with dx software and big game companies who ONLY MAKE GAMES for windows. Start making games for linux only too, then it would be a fight to death...

what are you talking about?? what pc with linux for text editors?? linux can play ,create and edit all music and video files with great free programs.plus with wine or cedega you can play many windows games. you have no idea what actually linux is or can do

Well since the NSA (National Security Agency) designed the Secure Linux Kernel and use it themselves (along with many government agencies around the globe), there is a reason you should feel safer with Linux. Especially in light of Global Corporate Domination of Windows! Plus! If you write viruses and are a hacker, which operating system are you going to write viruses for? ......thought so! ;) Ride the Wave to the Future, where the Future is NOW ...and it leads to a FREEer Society!!!

It is a lot harder to write Linux viruses, and even then, there should you find a back-door from which you can enter. It's so problematic, the quantity of Linux malware is still low, even after years.
