When the mother gives birth she takes the baby in her arms and holds it to her chest and starts cleaning the newborn, not eating it cos shes hungry ha?? She shows all the natural maternal instincts that a new Orang-utan. Thanks for posting ! Its just cleaning its newborn no need to be grossed out!

That was really beautiful. Now if only human mothers could go back to birthing this way.. birthing their babies into thier own hands and trusting thier primal instincts (and maybe even eating the placenta as well..;)). Very Moving. :)

Ok I know it is all miracle and stuff and beautiful and... stuff... but DUDE... I know the cord and the placenta... and stuff... is rich in proteins and nutrients in general but .. WOW, that just grossed me out. well, guess there won't be many orangutan doctors, those furballs can take care of themselves quite efficiently lol.
