Verizon Offers Support in ASL via Videophone
BackClaude Stout, executive director of Telecommunications for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Inc. (TDI), a national consumer advocacy organization based in Silver Spring, Maryland, discusses how deaf people can communicate with another deaf person and see each other through videophone. He says Verizon allows him, who is deaf, to communicate directly with a Verizon customer service representative without having to use an interpreter. Claude also shows himself communicating with a Verizon customer service representative in American Sign Language.
