Vegetable Soup Intro
BackThis is either the intro to the 70's era children's PBS program "Vegetable Soup", or it's the first thing Jerry Falwell saw the moment he arrived in Hell. ***MY LITTLE RANT** YouTube has been deleting a lot of videos because of claims of "copyright infringement". I ask you, HOW does it serve the public good when a video is deliberately prevented from being seen by anyone ever again? It's one thing if you are trying to make money from your own commercial releases and don't want it to be pirated, but in many cases, these videos AREN'T released in ANY commercial form (such as the "Star Wars Holiday Special") and it seems they deliberately just want to block you from ever seeing what they don't want you to see. Why? Who knows, but it seems to be pretty spiteful and selfish. If there ever is a case of any of my videos being available in commercially-released form, I will gladly take them down from YouTube (and then go out and buy the video!). The videos I provide here are because they are not being shown anywhere else because the creators are being selfish, and that is the REAL crime, in my opinion.

I am from northern NJ and have a friend from northeast Ohio. We have been singing this song for some time now not knowing where or how this nugget soulfulness that had greatly influence us as young black kids entered our brains. In any case this show was the first time we both heard or saw cartoon characters that had soul and reminded us of Saturday mornings filled with music that our parents played.

WOW! I remember this being shown in the summer during PBS' Vacation Video...Along with 1-2-3 Contact, Reading Rainbow, Power House, etc.,
"That was a time when there was room in popular culture for wonkiness and weirdness. It wasn't all super refined and polished and plastic for the sake of commercial success."
...Well said, INTERSTITIALOFFICIAL.
Back then, ethnicity & diversity played a key role in educating...Not for market consumption & commercialism, today.
